Game description:

Super Godzilla is a unique action-strategy game released for the SNES in 1994. Instead of a traditional side-scrolling beat-’em-up, it blends a tactical map-navigation phase with cinematic 2D boss battles. You guide the legendary kaiju through destroyed cities to fend off alien invaders and classic Toho monsters, eventually unlocking the powerful Super Godzilla form.

How to Play

The game is split into two distinct phases. On the map screen, you navigate Godzilla toward the boss while managing energy and collecting items. When you encounter a foe, the game shifts to a split-screen fighting mode. In combat, you build up your attack spirit by walking toward the enemy, then step back to select and unleash a devastating attack before they strike. For the SNES controls in your browser, use the arrow keys (D-pad) to move, X (A button) and Z (B button) for actions, Enter for Start, and Shift for Select.

Tips

  • During battle, keep an eye on your fighting spirit gauge. Walking forward builds it up, allowing you to execute stronger attacks, but you must retreat and strike before the enemy counters.
  • Collect blue spheres on the map to replenish your health and red spheres to restore your energy before engaging the boss.
  • Pay attention to the terrain during the map phase. Moving through buildings costs more energy than walking on clear roads, so plan your route carefully.
