Game description:

AeroGauge is a futuristic sci-fi racing game released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 by ASCII Entertainment. Taking inspiration from the era’s hovercraft racers, the game puts players in the cockpit of high-speed aeromachines navigating twisting tracks. Unlike its contemporaries, AeroGauge features unique vertical maneuvers and lacks weapons, focusing entirely on pure racing skill and sharp cornering at breakneck speeds.

How to Play

The objective is to master each track’s layout and finish in first place against CPU opponents or beat the clock in time trials. For Nintendo 64 games played in the browser, the default controls use the arrow keys for steering your aeromachine, Z for the A button to accelerate, and X for the B button to brake. The Enter key acts as Start to pause or confirm menu selections.

Tips

  • Master the Banking: Since there are no weapons, mastering the drift and banking mechanics on tight corners is essential for maintaining speed and shaving seconds off your lap times.
  • Learn the Vertical Paths: Keep an eye out for vertical track sections and alternate routes; navigating these efficiently can give you a significant edge over the AI racers.
