DOS Games Online – 501 Classic PC Games
The MS-DOS era (roughly 1985–1997) produced the games that defined PC gaming: Doom and Wolfenstein 3D, Prince of Persia, Commander Keen, Duke Nukem 3D, SimCity, Civilization, The Oregon Trail, Lemmings, the Sierra and LucasArts adventures and hundreds of shareware titles from Apogee and Epic. Past Play runs 501 DOS games in the browser through a DOSBox emulator, with each game pre-configured so it starts straight into the executable rather than a C: prompt.
DOS games expect a keyboard, and most of them use it heavily – the controls panel under each game lists the keys the original manual gave. Mouse-driven games (adventures, strategy) capture the mouse when you click the game screen; press Escape or click outside to release it. Games that shipped on several floppy disks are packaged as a single image here. Save states work, but most DOS games also have their own in-game save system, which is worth using for the long ones.
