Shamus is a maze-based action game published by Synapse Software for DOS in 1982. You play a private detective navigating a labyrinth of interconnected rooms, shooting enemies and collecting keys to push deeper into the complex. The detective premise gave this 1982 release more character than the wave-based arcade shooters that dominated the era.
How to play
Move with the arrow keys. Each room contains enemies that home in on you — clear them out and search for keys before moving on. Keys open locked passages deeper in the maze, so missing one can leave you stranded. Keep moving; standing still is how you get cornered.
