Sega CD Games Online โ 126 Mega-CD Games
The Sega CD (1992, Mega-CD outside North America) bolted a CD drive and extra hardware onto the Genesis. Its reputation was shaped by full-motion-video games like Night Trap, but the library’s real value is elsewhere: Sonic CD, Lunar: The Silver Star and Eternal Blue, Snatcher (Hideo Kojima’s cyberpunk adventure, English release only on this system), Final Fight CD, Popful Mail, Shining Force CD and the Sega CD versions of Earthworm Jim and Ecco the Dolphin with CD soundtracks. Past Play hosts 126 Sega CD games in the browser.
The games run on the same emulator core as the Genesis shelf with the CD BIOS loaded, so the controls are identical โ three- or six-button pads on the keyboard or a gamepad. Disc images are larger than cartridges and include the Red Book audio tracks, so the first load is longer. Save states are available on every game and the internal backup RAM is preserved for in-game saves.
