OutRun is a classic racing game published by SEGA and released for the Game Gear in 1986. Players jump behind the wheel of a red sports car and race against the clock across a series of branching, scenic stages. Known for its sense of speed, iconic branching routes, and memorable soundtrack, it remains one of the defining arcade driving experiences of its era.
How to Play
The objective is to reach the finish line of the fifth stage before the timer runs out. At the end of each stage, the road forks, allowing you to choose your own route and experience a different set of environments and endings. Avoid traffic and roadside hazards, as crashing will cost you precious seconds.

Tips
- Shift to low gear to quickly accelerate from a dead stop or recover from a crash, then switch back to high gear to reach your top speed.
- Memorize the sharp corners on your preferred route to avoid high-speed crashes, which trigger a time-consuming flip animation.
- Try to take the inside of curves when navigating around traffic to minimize the distance traveled and save time on the clock.
