Developed by Access Software and originally released in 1987, World Class Leader Board brings realistic golf simulation to the Game Gear. This classic sports title challenged players with precise swing mechanics, authentic course designs, and environmental variables like wind speed, setting an early standard for the genre.
How to play
Your goal is to complete each of the available courses with the lowest score possible. The core of the gameplay is the three-click swing meter: press the button to start your backswing, press again to set the power, and press a third time to set the “snap” (accuracy) as the indicator returns. Missing the perfect snap will cause your shot to hook or slice.

Tips
- Pay close attention to the wind indicator before choosing your club, as a strong wind will significantly alter your ball’s trajectory.
- The final click for accuracy is the most critical part of your swing; a perfect snap is essential to avoid hitting into the rough or water hazards.
- When playing the notoriously difficult Gauntlet course, prioritize accuracy over raw distance to navigate its narrow fairways.
