Booby Kids (Japan) is an overhead action-puzzle game released for the Famicom (NES) in 1987 by Nichibutsu. Serving as a home console version of the arcade game Kid no Hore Hore Daisakusen, it blends maze navigation with strategic digging mechanics. Players travel across 21 different time periodsโranging from the prehistoric era to futuristic settingsโcollecting items while carefully avoiding or burying pursuing enemies.
How to Play
Your objective in each stage is to collect all the required items, such as coconuts or ancient scrolls, to reveal the exit. Use the arrow keys to navigate the maze. Press the Z or X keys to dig holes in the ground or fill them back in. Enemies that fall into these holes become temporarily trapped, allowing you to either safely walk over them or permanently bury them by filling the hole. Press Enter for Start and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Be careful not to corner yourself when digging, as holes take a moment to excavate and fill.
- Burying an enemy removes them from the board, but keep in mind that they will eventually respawn if you take too long to finish the level.
- Learn enemy movement patterns, as some will actively chase you while others wander aimlessly.
