Developed by Namco in 1983, Mappy is a classic action-platformer where you play as a mouse police officer recovering stolen goods. In this Game Gear release, you navigate a multi-story mansion to grab back electronics, paintings, and safes from a gang of thieving cats (the Meowkies) and their boss, Nyamco. Unlike traditional platformers, you cannot jump freely; instead, you rely entirely on a network of trampolines to move vertically between floors.
How to play
Your goal in each level is to collect all the stolen items before the cats catch you. Bouncing on a trampoline makes you invulnerable to enemies, but you can only bounce three times in a row before it breaks. To defend yourself, open doors into enemies’ faces to stun them, or use flashing microwave doors to sweep away multiple cats at once.

Tips
- Match pairs: Collect identical items back-to-back to score a multiplier bonus.
- Watch the trampolines: A trampoline changes color each time you bounce on it. Make sure to step off onto a floor before it turns red and snaps on the fourth bounce.
- Catch the boss: Nyamco likes to hide behind the stolen goods. Grabbing an item while he is hiding behind it awards a large point bonus.
