Eli’s Ladder is an educational puzzle game released by Simage for the Atari 2600 in 1982. Designed to test arithmetic and logic, it presents players with problem-solving challenges where correct answers help Eli climb his ladder step-by-step.
How to play
Players solve math problems to progress up the board. The game features both single-player and head-to-head two-player modes. In the browser emulator, Player 1 uses the Arrow keys to select and move, with Spacebar as the action trigger. Player 2 uses T/G/F/H for movement and A for trigger. Press F11 to toggle game select and F12 to reset.
Tips
- Take time to verify calculations before triggering an answer, as steady progress up the ladder is key to reaching the goal.
- When playing two-player mode on a shared keyboard, assign distinct control sets (Arrow keys vs. TGFH) before starting to avoid simultaneous key conflicts.
