Condor Attack is a fixed-screen shooter for the Atari 2600, published by Ultravision in 1983. Waves of condors sweep across the screen in formation before breaking off to dive at your cannon — the same core tension as Galaxian, with birds instead of aliens and the 2600’s characteristic one-screen constraint.
How to play
Your cannon moves along the bottom of the screen. Use the arrow keys to position it and Spacebar to fire. Condors fly in horizontal sweeps and peel off to dive — shoot the divers as a priority, since they close the distance quickly. Press F11 in the browser to cycle through the game’s built-in variations, which adjust the speed and aggression of the formations; F12 resets.
Tips
- Target any condor that breaks from formation immediately — a diver that reaches the bottom throws off your positioning.
- Hold a position near the centre of the screen so you can reach threats on both sides without scrambling.
