Condor is a 1981 arcade fixed shooter manufactured by Sidam. It is an exact bootleg of the legendary space shooter Phoenix. Like the original, you control a lone spacecraft battling waves of increasingly aggressive alien birds, culminating in one of the earliest examples of an arcade boss fight against an alien mothership. Though an unofficial clone, it perfectly replicates the challenging, multi-stage gameplay that defined the early era of the arcade golden age.
How to Play
Your objective is to survive five distinct stages of alien attacks. You must clear out formations of diving birds and destroy the giant mothership at the end of the cycle to loop back to the beginning at a higher difficulty. To play in the browser, insert a coin using Shift (or 5) and press Enter (or 1) to start. Use the Arrow Keys to move your ship left and right, and press Z to fire your laser. Press X to activate your energy shield.
Tips for Survival
The energy shield makes you temporarily invincible to enemies and projectiles, but it requires a few seconds to recharge after each use. Save it for emergencies when you are trapped in the corner. During the mothership battle, focus on chipping away the hull directly below the alien pilot, and be careful of the swooping escort birds while you line up the final shot.
