Fatal Run is a post-apocalyptic vehicular combat racing game developed by Sculptured Software for the Atari 7800 in 1989. Set in the year 2089 after an asteroid strike, you drive across wasteland highways to deliver radiation vaccines to surviving cities, battling enemy vehicles and managing fuel and armor along the way.
How to play
You must reach each city before the population succumbs to radiation poisoning. Destroying enemy cars earns points, which are used to purchase vehicle upgrades like better armor, tires, weapons, and engines between levels. Use the arrow keys to steer and accelerate, X and Z to fire machine guns and use special weapons, and Enter to pause.
Tips
- Manage your speed: Driving at top speed burns fuel rapidly. Find a comfortable cruising speed to conserve fuel for the long stretches between cities.
