Snake Rattle N Roll is a challenging isometric action-platformer developed by Rare and released for the Sega Genesis in 1990. You control two snakes, Rattle and Roll, navigating treacherous 3D environments while gobbling up various types of Nibbley Pibbleys to gain enough weight to activate the exit scale at the end of each level. Known for its sharp difficulty and slippery momentum-based movement, the game offers both single-player and simultaneous cooperative two-player modes.
How to Play
Your primary goal in each stage is to eat enough Nibbley Pibbleys to make your snake tail flash, indicating you are heavy enough to ring the bell on the exit scale.
- Move: Arrow Keys
- Jump: X
- Tongue Attack: S
- Start / Pause: Enter
Tips
- Watch your tail: Your tail length indicates your weight and health. Taking damage removes segments, and losing all of them costs a life.
- Master the isometric view: Jumping can be tricky due to the perspective. Pay attention to your snake shadow to gauge where you will land.
- Grab the tongue extensions: Look for power-ups that lengthen your tongue, making it much easier to catch faster Nibbley Pibbleys and attack enemies from a safe distance.
