Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan), famously known outside of Japan as The Lost Levels, is a notoriously challenging 1988 platformer for the NES. Originally designed as the true sequel to the first game, it takes the classic side-scrolling formula and ramps up the difficulty to extreme heights with devious level design, unpredictable wind mechanics, and the infamous Poison Mushroom.
How to Play
Your objective is to navigate eight treacherous worlds to rescue the Princess, playing as either Mario or Luigi. Luigi jumps higher but has less traction, while Mario offers standard controls. Since this is an NES game, the default browser controls are the Arrow Keys for movement, Z to jump (A button), X to run or shoot fireballs (B button), and Enter to pause or select (Start).
