Game description:

Tetris Zero is a 2012 NES ROM hack by developer Infidelity that fixes the most famous omission in Nintendo’s official release: the lack of multiplayer. This patch seamlessly integrates a fully functioning two-player versus mode into the original 8-bit classic.

How to Play

Clear horizontal lines by rotating and placing falling blocks. In the two-player versus mode, clearing multiple lines simultaneously sends garbage lines to your opponent’s board, pushing them closer to the top.

Tips

  • Keep the board flat: Avoid creating deep wells or spire formations. A flat landscape gives you more options for whatever random piece comes next.
  • Build for Tetris: In versus mode, clearing four lines at once (a “Tetris”) is the most efficient way to send garbage to your opponent. Leave a single empty column on the far left or right for your straight piece.
