Game description:

Super H.Q. is an intense vehicular combat racing game released by Taito for the Sega Genesis in 1992. Known as Chase H.Q. II in North America, this entry evolves the classic arcade pursuit formula by letting players choose from three distinct police vehicles: a nimble sports car, a rugged 4×4, and a heavy semi-truck. As a high-speed enforcer, your job is to weave through civilian traffic, catch up to fleeing fugitives, and repeatedly ram their cars until they are forced to surrender.

How to Play

Your objective is to stop the target criminal’s vehicle before the strict stage timer expires. First, you must navigate open highways to catch up to the suspect, and then repeatedly crash into their car to deplete its health bar. The default Sega Genesis controls use the D-pad (Arrow Keys) to steer, with the A, B, and C buttons (typically mapped to Z, X, and C on your keyboard) handling acceleration, braking, and activating limited nitro boosts.

Tips

  • Pick the Right Vehicle: The sports car is incredibly fast but deals minimal ramming damage, while the semi-truck is slower but can crush suspect vehicles in fewer hits. The 4×4 offers a balanced approach for beginners.
  • Save Your Nitros: Do not waste your turbo boosts just trying to catch up to the suspect. Keep them in reserve for when you are directly behind the target so you can smash into them at maximum speed.
  • Anticipate the Curves: High-speed collisions with civilian cars or roadside obstacles will cost you precious time. Ease off the accelerator slightly before sharp turns to maintain better control.
