Brought to the Sega Genesis by Tengen in 1990, Pit-Fighter is an early arcade fighting game famous for its use of digitized actors. You choose between three underground brawlersโBuzz, Ty, or Katoโand fight your way through illegal tournaments to defeat the Masked Warrior. The matches take place in interactive arenas where you can grab weapons like barrels or knives, and the surrounding crowd will occasionally interfere with the fight.
How to play
The objective is to deplete your opponent’s health in brutal, free-roaming combat to advance to the next match. You can use the arrow keys to move around the pit, S to punch (Genesis A button), X to kick (B), and Z to jump (C). Press Enter to start or pause the game.
Tips
Pressing all three action buttons simultaneously unleashes your character’s super move, which is extremely useful when surrounded by multiple enemies. Additionally, watch out for the crowdโif they push an opponent back into the ring, use that moment to land an uncontested attack while they stumble.
