Super Battleship (USA) on the Sega Genesis expands the classic naval board game into a full tactical simulation. Instead of just guessing grid coordinates, you take direct command of a modern fleet in the “Super” mode, navigating coastlines, managing radar, and engaging enemy ships in real-time combat missions.
How to Play
Choose between the traditional blind-grid Battleship mode or the objective-based strategy campaign. In the main campaign, you steer your vessels across the map, switching to a combat screen to manually aim and fire weapons when engaging the enemy. Use the D-pad to move your cursor or steer your ships, the A, B, and C buttons to select weapons and confirm actions, and Start to access your map and menus. In the browser, these controls map to the arrow keys, Z, X, C, and Enter.
Tips
- Use your escort ships to scout ahead; losing a small patrol boat is much better than sailing a battleship into an ambush.
- Keep an eye on your damage reports. If a ship takes too many hits to its engines or weapons, it becomes a sitting duck, so withdraw heavily damaged vessels from the frontline.
