Twin Cobra is a vertical helicopter shooter developed and published by Toaplan for the Sega Genesis. You fly over scrolling terrain — deserts, rivers, and military installations — facing relentless waves of tanks, artillery placements, gunboats, and enemy aircraft. Defeating enemies drops power-up icons that upgrade your helicopter’s firepower through progressively stronger weapon types, and keeping that upgrade chain alive under increasing fire is the game’s central challenge.
How to play
Arrow keys move your helicopter freely across the playfield. Fly over power-up icons dropped by destroyed enemies to collect them — they scroll off quickly, so grab them on the way through. Losing a life resets your weapon level to its base, making recovery the immediate priority after each respawn.

Tips
- Ground vehicles drop power-up items as reliably as airborne enemies — actively clearing them accelerates your weapon progression.
- After a death, prioritise collecting power-up icons before pushing forward; fighting at base weapon level makes the next wave significantly harder.
- Keep moving at all times — the playfield fills with projectiles fast and a hovering helicopter concentrates the incoming fire.
