Game description:

Lotus Turbo Challenge 2 is a racing game from Gremlin Graphics, published by Electronic Arts on the Sega Genesis in 1991. You race a Lotus sports car through a series of point-to-point stages, hitting checkpoint timers while managing demanding handling and competing against AI drivers. The game includes a two-player split-screen mode — both players race the same stage side-by-side on one screen.

How to play

Reach each checkpoint before the timer expires. Steer with the left and right arrow keys. The Genesis face buttons map to keyboard as: X key (B button) to accelerate, Z key (C button) to brake, S key (A button) for additional actions. Press Enter to start a race and navigate menus.

To race split-screen, select the two-player option from the main menu. A second player can share the keyboard or plug in a second gamepad.

Tips

  • The car responds sharply — steer with short, deliberate taps rather than holding the key through a corner, or you will overshoot.
  • Braking points are unmarked. Overshooting a corner is how you find the right point; next approach, brake a fraction earlier and build from there.
  • In split-screen, holding the inside line through a corner can neutralise a speed advantage — position matters as much as pace.
