🎮 Play Space Invaders Online (SNES)

Developed by Taito, Space Invaders is the genre-defining action shooter originally released in 1978. This SNES port faithfully recreates the classic arcade experience, challenging you to defend the earth from endless, descending waves of alien ships before they reach the bottom of the screen.

How to Play

Your objective is to clear each wave of aliens while dodging their incoming fire. You can take temporary cover behind four destructible shields, though they will break down as they absorb shots from either side. In your browser, use the arrow keys (↑↓←→) to move left and right. Press Z (action button A) to fire your laser, and use Enter (START) to begin the game.

Tips

• Target the edges: The alien swarm drops down a row each time it touches the edge of the screen. Focus on destroying the far left and right columns first to slow their descent.
• Count your shots: You can only have one laser blast on the screen at a time. Aim carefully and wait for your shot to hit or clear the screen before firing again.
• Watch for the saucer: Listen for the high-pitched sound of the red mystery saucer flying across the top of the screen. Hitting it awards a randomized high score bonus.
