Paperboy 2 is an action game released for the NES in 1992, continuing the frantic neighborhood newspaper deliveries of its classic arcade predecessor. Instead of being restricted to one side of the road, you can now toss papers to subscribers on both sides of the street while navigating an expanded suburban neighborhood full of unpredictable hazards.
How to Play
Your goal is to deliver daily newspapers to the mailboxes or front porches of paying subscribers. For non-subscribers, you can break their windows or hit their yard ornaments for extra points. Missing a delivery or damaging a subscriber’s house will cause them to cancel. At the end of the neighborhood route, you must navigate a BMX-style obstacle course to finish your day.
Controls: Use the Arrow Keys to steer your bicycle, accelerate, and brake. Press Z (B button) to throw a newspaper to the left and X (A button) to throw to the right. Use Enter to pause the game.
Tips
- Keep moving: Slowing down too much makes you an easy target for fast-moving hazards like runaway tires, remote control cars, and angry dogs.
- Stock up on papers: Always look out for paper bundles on the street. Running out of papers will ruin your delivery streak.
- Aim carefully: While you can freely break the windows of non-subscribers, accidentally hitting a subscriber’s window will cost you a valuable customer.
