Paperboy 2 is a 1991 action sequel for the NES, published by Tengen. Building on the arcade classic, this entry lets you choose to ride as either a Paperboy or Papergirl and introduces the ability to throw papers to both sides of the street as you navigate a treacherous suburban route.
How to play
Your goal is to perfectly deliver newspapers to your subscribers while avoiding the neighborhood’s many hazards. Toss papers into mailboxes or onto porches for points, and feel free to break the windows of non-subscribers. At the end of each day, survive the training course to earn bonus points.
Use the Arrow Keys to steer your bike and control your speed. Press Z or X (mapped to the NES A and B buttons) to toss a newspaper to the left or right side of the street. Press Enter to start.
Tips
- Staying in the middle of the street can sometimes be safer than riding on the sidewalk, though you still need to watch out for oncoming cars and grates.
- Memorize where the subscribers and non-subscribers live, as the layout remains consistent for the week. Don’t waste your limited supply of papers unless you are aiming for a non-subscriber’s window to earn extra points.
