Hello Kitty World is a 1992 side-scrolling platformer for the Famicom (NES), originally released only in Japan and presented here with an English translation patch. Developed by Character Soft, the game is actually a fully reskinned Famicom port of the Game Boy classic Balloon Kid. Instead of standard running and jumping, Hello Kitty navigates through the stages by floating through the air using two balloons.
How to Play
The primary objective is to reach the end of each stage while avoiding hazards, spikes, and enemies that can pop your balloons. For NES games in the browser, use the Arrow keys for the D-pad to move, X (A button) to flap and gain altitude, Z (B button) to detach your balloons, Enter for Start, and Shift for Select.
Tips
- If your balloons get popped by an enemy, you will fall to the ground. You can still walk and jump to survive, but your mobility is heavily restricted.
- When you are safely grounded, press Down repeatedly to pump up a new set of balloons and take to the skies again.
