Game description:

Galaga is a classic vertical fixed shooter released for the NES in 1985 by Namco. As the iconic sequel to Galaxian, you control a lone starfighter defending against waves of insect-like alien invaders that dive-bomb from the top of the screen in intricate, looping formations.

How to Play

Your objective is to destroy every alien in the swarm to advance to the next stage while avoiding collisions and enemy fire. Use the Arrow keys to move your ship left and right across the bottom of the screen, and press Z or X to fire your missiles. Press Enter to Start, and Shift to Select.

Tips

  • Double your firepower by letting a green Boss Galaga capture your ship with its tractor beam; shoot the boss on your next life while it attacks to rescue your fighter and link them together.
  • During the bonus “Challenging Stages,” enemies will not fire at you. Memorize their flight patterns to shoot them all down and secure the 10,000-point “Perfect” bonus.
