Cross Force is an action shooter published by Spectravision for the Atari 2600 in 1983. Enemies fill the screen fast and the challenge escalates quickly — surviving requires constant movement and reading the gaps rather than simply holding down the trigger. The game supports two players simultaneously, either on the same keyboard or via a second gamepad.
How to Play
Shoot down incoming enemies and avoid being hit. The action intensifies rapidly, so mobility matters more than firepower.
| Player 1 | Player 2 | |
|---|---|---|
| Move | ↑ ↓ ← → | T G F H |
| Fire | Spacebar | A |
| Turbo fire | Del | . (period) |
| Reset | F12 | |
| Select | F11 | |
| Pause | Alt + P | |
F2 toggles between colour and black-and-white mode; Alt + L switches between joystick and paddle input.
Tips
- Keep moving at all times — a stationary position gets cornered fast once the screen fills.
- Use turbo fire (Del for P1, period for P2) in dense waves; sustained fire clears lanes more reliably than manual tapping.
