Basic Math is an educational game published by Sears for the Atari 2600 in 1977 — one of the nine titles available at the console’s launch. It presents arithmetic problems on screen, one at a time, covering addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and asks you to scroll the joystick to dial in the correct answer digit by digit.
How to play
A problem appears and you tilt the joystick up or down to change each answer digit, then press the trigger to submit. Use SELECT (F11) before starting to choose from the game’s variations, which set the arithmetic operation and difficulty level. A second player can join using the right joystick controls.
