Originally developed by Exidy in 1983 and later ported to the Atari 7800, Crossbow: The Legend of William Tell is an action shooter where your speed and accuracy are the only things keeping your party alive. Instead of controlling an avatar on screen, you use a crosshair to shoot incoming threats before they can reach the adventurers walking across the landscape.
How to Play
Your objective is to safely guide your party from the left side of the screen to the right. You have no direct control over their movements, so you must anticipate danger and eliminate enemies, falling debris, and traps quickly. Use the directional controls to move your crosshair and the main action buttons to shoot.

Tips
- Shoot the colored path markers that appear on screen to choose your next destination.
- Prioritize fast-moving projectiles and enemies that spawn close to the adventurers, as they give you less time to react.
- Some background elements can be shot for bonus points, but stay focused on protecting your party.
