Released for the NES in 1988 by Rare, Anticipation is a multiplayer video board game that plays like a fast-paced digital version of Pictionary. Up to four players navigate around a virtual game board by competing to solve line drawings as they are sketched on the screen.
How to Play
Your goal is to collect a token of every color by guessing the drawings for each category before your opponents do. When you recognize what the pencil is drawing, buzz in quickly and use the alphabet grid to spell your answer. The default NES web emulator controls are the Arrow keys for the D-pad, Z and X for the A and B buttons, Enter for Start, and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Take note of the blank letter spaces at the top of the screen before the drawing startsโknowing the word length is a huge clue.
- Once you buzz in, a countdown timer starts while you spell. If you get stuck, let the timer expire to see more of the drawing, but remember that other players can then steal the turn.
