World of Illusion – Fushigi na Magic Box is a classic platformer developed by Sega and released for the Sega Genesis in 1992. As the Japanese version of the beloved World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, the game invites players to explore beautifully animated stages. Trapped in a mystical realm by an evil sorcerer, Mickey and Donald must use their capes to perform magic, defeat quirky enemies, and find their way back home.
How to Play
Your objective is to guide Mickey or Donald through various enchanting levels, avoiding traps and overcoming bosses to break the sorcerer’s spell. The default Sega Genesis controls map to your keyboard in the browser: use the Arrow Keys to move and crouch, and Z, X, or C (mapping to A, B, and C) to jump, swing your magic cape to defeat enemies, and dash.
Tips
- Character Differences: Mickey and Donald face unique single-player routes. Mickey can easily squeeze through tight gaps, whereas Donald might get stuck and need an alternative path.
- Co-Op Teamwork: Playing with a friend unlocks exclusive two-player areas where you must work together to overcome puzzles, like pulling each other up steep ledges.
- Magic Cape Utility: Your cape turns enemies into harmless creatures like butterflies, but it can also reveal secrets when swung at suspicious parts of the environment.
