Val d’Isere Championship is a classic winter sports racing game released for the SNES in 1994. Developed by Loriciels (and known as Tommy Moe’s Winter Extreme in North America), it uses the console’s Mode 7 graphics to simulate fast-paced 3D mountain courses. You can choose to either ski or snowboard as you navigate down steep alpine tracks, dodge obstacles, and race through changing weather conditions like snowstorms and dusk.
How to Play
The goal is to reach the bottom of the mountain as quickly as possible while navigating through slalom gates and avoiding trees or other skiers. You can play in Freestyle mode for arcade racing, or Competition mode for a more traditional event structure.

- Watch the gates: Missing a gate usually adds a time penalty, so prioritize control over absolute top speed.

- Mind the weather: Conditions like dusk or snowstorms limit your visibility. If you are struggling, learn the course layouts in Training mode before tackling the harder competitions.
