Game description:

Super Luigi All-Stars is a fan-made ROM hack for the Super Nintendo (SNES) that shifts the spotlight to Mario’s often-overshadowed brother. Based on the classic Super Mario All-Stars compilation, this modification seamlessly swaps Mario out, letting you play as Luigi across the enhanced 16-bit remakes of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, and The Lost Levels. It alters sprites, title screens, and text to make Luigi the true star of the entire collection, offering a fresh way to experience these foundational platformers.

How to Play

The goal remains unchanged from the original games: run, jump, and power-up your way through each level to reach the flagpole or defeat Bowser, Wart, or other classic bosses. Super Luigi All-Stars uses standard SNES controls (D-pad, A/B/X/Y, L/R, and Start/Select), which map to the Arrow keys for movement, Z/X/A/S for jumping and running, Q/W for the shoulder buttons, and Enter/Shift for Start and Select in the browser.

Tips

  • Take advantage of the floaty jump: In Super Mario Bros. 2 and The Lost Levels, Luigi has his signature higher, floatier jump, which makes clearing large gaps easier but requires careful timing when landing.
  • Conserve your momentum: In Super Mario Bros. 3, building up your run speed to fill the P-Meter is crucial for flight and long leaps. Always look for a clear, flat surface to build speed before taking off.
  • Use the save feature: The original All-Stars save battery functionality remains intact. Use it from the game selection screen to preserve your progress, especially when tackling the punishing difficulty of The Lost Levels.
