The Terminator is a 1993 action-platformer and shooter for the SNES, published by Mindscape. Based on the classic 1984 sci-fi action film, you play as Kyle Reese through a series of intense side-scrolling levels, starting in the post-apocalyptic future war against Skynet before traveling back in time to 1984 Los Angeles to protect Sarah Connor.
How to play
Navigate through enemy-filled environments, taking out Terminators and Hunter-Killers. The SNES controls map directly to your keyboard: move and duck with the Arrow Keys, jump with X, and fire your weapon with Z. You can use A or S for alternate action buttons, cycle through weapons using Q and E, and pause the game with Enter.
Tips
- Shoot diagonally: You can aim your weapon in eight directions. Shooting diagonally while ducking or jumping is crucial for hitting enemies stationed on different elevations safely.
- Take it slow: The game spawns enemies based on your forward momentum. Rushing ahead will often result in being overwhelmed, so advance carefully and clear the screen before moving on.
