Tetsuwan Atom brings the beloved anime icon Astro Boy to the Super Famicom in this 1994 action-platformer developed by Zamuse. Taking control of the robotic hero, players punch, kick, and fly through varied side-scrolling stages based on classic storylines from the manga. The game features bright, colorful sprites that capture Osamu Tezuka’s art style, alongside challenging boss fights and a leveling mechanic that lets you upgrade Astro’s abilities.
How to Play
Navigate through each stage, defeating enemies and ultimately taking down the boss at the end of the level. You can attack with basic strikes, dash, and use Astro’s signature flight to traverse gaps and avoid hazards. Default SNES controls in the browser map the D-pad to the arrow keys for movement, Z and X (SNES B and Y) for jumping and attacking, and A and S for the other action buttons. Press Enter to start.
Tips
- Astro can fly by pressing jump again in mid-air, but keep an eye on your energy meter as it depletes while hovering.
- Look out for hidden capsules scattered in the levels to permanently upgrade your maximum health and power.
- Bosses often have specific invulnerability phases. Focus on dodging their patterns and wait for a clear opening before moving in to strike.
