Taz in Escape from Mars is a 16-bit action-platformer developed by Headplay and released by Sega in 1994 for the Sega Genesis. When Marvin the Martian abducts Taz to exhibit him in a Martian zoo, the legendary Tasmanian Devil must spin, smash, and chew his way across alien worlds to escape captivity and find a path back home to Earth.
How to Play
Guide Taz through platforming levels filled with hostile aliens, traps, and destructible obstacles. Taz can walk, jump, and activate his signature tornado spin to barrel through barriers and defeat enemies. Keep an eye on crates scattered throughout each zoneโeating the food inside restores Taz’s health, though swallowing dynamite or rocks will cause unintended chaos.
Browser Controls
- D-Pad (Arrow Keys): Move left/right, duck, or dig downward while spinning
- A Button (Z key): Interact / Special action
- B Button (X key): Tornado Spin
- C Button (C key): Jump
- Start (Enter): Pause / Start game
Game Tips
- Pace your spinning: The tornado spin destroys most enemies and cracked walls, but spinning continuously drains Taz’s stamina meter and leaves him vulnerable when it stops.
- Inspect food before eating: Crates frequently drop health-restoring snacks, but beware of glowing bombs or red hot peppers that cause Taz to react uncontrollably.
- Use spin digging: Certain floors and soil patches can be drilled through by holding down while spinning to access hidden sub-routes and bonus items.
