Secret Quest is a sci-fi action-adventure game developed by Axlon and published for the Atari 2600 in 1989. You navigate a series of labyrinthine space stations to battle alien creatures, locate vital items, and find the self-destruct codes needed to blow up each station before escaping to the next.
How to play
Your objective is to explore each station, manage your oxygen and energy levels, and enter the self-destruct code. Once the sequence is armed, you must quickly escape to the teleporter before the timer runs out. Use the arrow keys to move and the Spacebar to attack with your energy sword. The F11 (Select) key chooses the station, and F12 (Reset) starts the game.
Tips
- Keep an eye on your oxygen and energy levels. Standing still drains less oxygen than moving, but energy is consumed quickly by attacking or taking damage.
- You can bring up the status screen to check your stats or enter passwords by pressing F2 (mapped to the original console’s Black & White / Color switch).
