Game description:

Mega Man is a 1987 action-platform game developed and published by Capcom for the NES. You play as Mega Man, a robot created by Dr. Light, sent to stop the rogue scientist Dr. Wily and his six Robot Masters. It is the first entry in one of Capcom’s longest-running series.

How to Play

From the stage select screen you can tackle the six Robot Masters — Cut Man, Guts Man, Elec Man, Ice Man, Bomb Man, and Fire Man — in any order. Defeating each boss yields their special weapon, which is often the key weakness of another. After all six are beaten, Dr. Wily’s fortress opens for the final stages.

Tips

  • Each Robot Master drops a weapon that exploits another boss’s weakness. Working out the chain — or looking it up — dramatically reduces how much Buster fire you spend per fight.
  • Elec Man’s stage contains a hidden power item called the Magnet Beam, which generates temporary platforms. It is nearly essential for the later Wily fortress stages.
