F-1 Race is a classic Formula One racing game released for the Famicom (NES) in 1984 by Nintendo. As one of the earliest pseudo-3D racing titles for the console, it challenges players to drive a high-speed open-wheel car through progressively difficult tracks while avoiding other competitors.
How to Play
The objective is to complete each race within the strict time limit. If the timer hits zero before you cross the finish line, the game is over.
- D-pad (Arrow Keys): Steer left and right. Press Up to shift into High gear and Down to shift into Low gear.
- A Button (Z): Accelerate.
- B Button (X): Brake.
Tips
- Always start in Low gear to quickly build up speed, then shift into High gear once you reach top speed. If you crash, remember to shift back down to Low gear to accelerate again.
- Watch the curve indicators on the screen. Let off the accelerator or lightly tap the brakes before sharp turns to keep your car on the track and maintain your momentum.
