Ivan “Ironman” Stewart's Super Off-Road brings the frantic, dirt-track arcade racing experience to the NES. This isometric racer pits your truck against up to three competitors on single-screen tracks filled with bumps, jumps, and water hazards. Between races, you can spend your prize money to upgrade your vehicle's speed, acceleration, shocks, and tires.
How to Play
The objective is to finish first in each race to earn cash for truck upgrades while collecting nitro power-ups scattered across the track. Steer left and right relative to your truck's direction with the D-pad, accelerate with A, and use B to fire a nitro boost. In your browser, the D-pad is mapped to the arrow keys, with A and B mapped to X and Z. Start pauses the game (Enter).
Tips
- Save your nitro for straightaways or recovering quickly after a collision, rather than wasting them on tight corners.
- Prioritize upgrading your truck's top speed and acceleration early on to stay competitive in higher difficulty races.
- Nitros spawn dynamically during the race; try to grab them before your opponents do, especially if you fall behind.
