Hudson Hawk is a side-scrolling platformer released for the NES in 1991, based on the action-comedy film of the same name. You play as the world-famous cat burglar Eddie “Hudson Hawk” Hawkins, who is forced out of retirement to stop the villainous Mayflowers from reconstructing Leonardo da Vinci’s legendary alchemy machine. The game tasks you with sneaking through heavily guarded levels, using your agility and throwing baseballs to deal with security guards, dogs, and alarm systems.
How to Play
Your objective is to navigate each stage, overcome platforming obstacles, and retrieve Da Vinci’s stolen artifacts. The browser controls map to the original NES controller:
- Movement: Arrow Keys
- Jump: Z
- Attack: X
- Start / Pause: Enter
- Select: Shift
Tips
- Take your time observing enemy patrol patterns; many hazards are easier to dodge if you learn their timing rather than rushing forward.
- Use your baseballs from a distance whenever possible, as Hawkins is vulnerable to close-quarters damage.
