GP-1 – Rapid Stream (released as GP-1: Part II in North America) is a motorcycle racing simulator for the SNES, developed by Genki and published by Atlus. Building upon the foundation of the original GP-1, this sequel utilizes the console’s Mode 7 capabilities to deliver a smooth behind-the-rider perspective, complete with a full Grand Prix career mode, real-world inspired tracks, and detailed bike tuning.
How to Play
Race against rival competitors to earn points and upgrade your motorcycle. The standard SNES controls apply in the browser: use the Arrow Keys to steer and lean into corners, Z (B button) to accelerate, and X (Y button) to brake. You can also shift gears manually if you select a manual transmission.
Tips
- Pre-Race Tuning: Pay attention to the track layout before each race. Adjusting your transmission ratio for better acceleration on technical tracks, or a higher top speed on tracks with long straights, makes a huge difference.
- Smooth Cornering: Do your heavy braking in a straight line before entering a corner. Coast into the apex and accelerate smoothly on the way out to maintain your momentum and avoid sliding onto the grass.
