Gods is a deliberate, puzzle-focused action platformer developed by the Bitmap Brothers and released for the Sega Genesis in 1991. You play as a hero seeking immortality from the gods, battling through ancient cities filled with traps, switches, and enemies whose AI adapts to your playstyle. Unlike fast-paced run-and-gun titles, survival here relies on careful pacing, exploration, and managing your inventory.
How to play
Your goal is to reach the end of each level by solving switch puzzles, finding keys, and defeating bosses. You must manage your health and weapons, and purchase upgrades between stages.

Tips
- Watch for adaptive enemies: The AI reacts to your playstyle. Some enemies will actively try to steal valuable items before you can reach them, so prioritize your targets.
- Shop wisely: Between levels, you can spend collected gems. Prioritize weapon upgrades like the spread shot to make dealing with flying enemies much easier.
- Experiment with switches: Puzzles often require pulling levers in specific sequences or bringing certain items to specific locations. If you are stuck, re-explore the area for a missed switch.
