Final Fight 2 is a side-scrolling beat ’em up released by Capcom for the SNES in 1993. Unlike the console port of its predecessor, this sequel was built specifically for the SNES and introduces a crucial feature: two-player cooperative play. The story follows returning mayor Mike Haggar, along with new fighters Maki and Carlos, as they travel across Eurasia to rescue Maki’s family from a revived Mad Gear Gang.
How to play
Your goal is to brawl through waves of Mad Gear thugs across various side-scrolling stages, picking up weapons and health-restoring food along the way. To control your character in the browser:
- Movement: Arrow keys (↑↓←→)
- Attack: Z
- Jump: X
- Special Attack: Press Z and X together (drains a small amount of health when it connects)
- Start/Select: Enter / Shift
Tips
- Master the throw: Walk directly into an enemy to grab them, then press Attack and a direction to throw them into crowds, knocking down multiple foes at once.
- Use the special attack wisely: The simultaneous Jump + Attack move makes you briefly invincible and clears surrounded enemies, but since it costs health on hit, save it for emergencies when you are trapped.
- Mind the Y-axis: Enemies will try to surround you. Move up and down the screen to line them up on one side so you can hit several at once with your basic combo.
