Developed by Midway Games and brought to the SNES in 1994, Mortal Kombat II is a defining 1v1 fighting game that improved upon the original in nearly every way. Known for its digitized sprites, faster gameplay, and brutally creative fatalities, it expanded the roster to 12 playable fighters and deepened the combat system with new special moves and attack variations.
How to play
Your objective is to defeat a ladder of opponents in the Outworld tournament, culminating in battles against Kintaro and Shao Kahn, or to fight against a second player in versus mode. Matches are best two out of three rounds.

Tips
- Master the uppercut: Crouching and hitting High Punch executes an uppercut, which is universally one of the best anti-air moves and deals massive damage.
- Exploit the AI: The computer opponents notoriously read your button inputs, meaning raw special moves will often get countered. A classic strategy is to jump backward; the AI will frequently jump forward to chase you, allowing you to land an easy jump kick.
- Use the sweep kick: The sweeping low kick (Back + Low Kick) is excellent for creating space and knocking down an approaching opponent.
