Game description:

Final Fantasy – Revelations is a comprehensive ROM hack of the Super Nintendo classic Final Fantasy III (originally Final Fantasy VI in Japan), created by modder Zeemis. This modified version takes the legendary 16-bit role-playing game and overhauls its mechanics, offering rebalanced character stats, adjusted enemy encounters, and a fresh challenge for veteran players. You still guide an ensemble castโ€”including Terra, Locke, and Celesโ€”through a vast, story-driven world battling the evil Gestahlian Empire and the chaotic Kefka, but with a refined gameplay experience that breathes new life into the masterpiece.

How to Play

As a traditional Japanese RPG, you explore the overworld, navigate intricate dungeons, and engage in turn-based combat using the Active Time Battle (ATB) system. In this browser emulator, use the Arrow Keys for the D-pad to move your party. Press X (mapped to the A button) to confirm menu selections and interact with the world, and Z (mapped to the B button) to cancel actions or sprint. The Enter key acts as Start to pause or bring up the main menu, while Shift acts as Select. The S and A keys map to the L and R shoulder buttons, which are crucial for running from battles or toggling multi-target magic.

Tips

  • Balance your Espers: Pay close attention to which Espers you equip before leveling up, as their stat-growth bonuses are essential for building a capable party.
  • Explore thoroughly: Take the time to steal rare items with Locke and learn enemy skills with Strago, as early preparation is key to surviving the modified boss fights.
  • Use the back row: Put your mages and characters with low physical defense in the back row to cut the physical damage they take in half, utilizing long-range weapons or magic to maintain their offensive output.
