Business Wars (Japan) is a text-based adventure and strategy game released for the NES in 1992 by Hect. Exclusive to the Japanese market, it abandons traditional action mechanics in favor of high-stakes corporate decision-making. Players navigate a series of business scenarios using a menu interface, negotiating with corporate rivals, managing loans, and making strategic choices to build their empire.
Gameplay centers entirely on reading text and selecting the right responses to corporate challenges. Use the D-pad (mapped to your keyboard’s arrow keys) to navigate the menus, press the A button (Z key) to confirm your choices, and use the B button (X key) to cancel or go back. Because this is the original Japanese release, reading Japanese is required to understand the negotiations and progress the story.
