Released for the Nintendo 64 in 1997 by Rare, Blast Corps is an action-puzzle game built around large-scale demolition. A runaway nuclear missile carrier is rolling unstoppably across the landscape, and it is up to you to clear its path. You take command of a diverse fleet of specialized vehiclesโfrom standard bulldozers to giant, building-crushing mechsโleveling entire towns to prevent a catastrophic collision.
How to play
Use the analog stick or D-pad to steer your vehicles, with the A and B buttons handling acceleration and braking, and the Z trigger executing special maneuvers (mapped to the arrow keys, Z, X, and C in the browser). The main objective in every level is to stay ahead of the carrier and completely flatten any buildings blocking its route.
Tips
- Master the Backlash dump truck by learning to slide; it can only destroy buildings by violently drifting its heavy rear end into them.
- After the missile carrier safely clears a stage, re-enter the level to finish off remaining structures and find hidden communication points to earn higher medals.
