Bio Senshi Dan: Increaser Tono Tatakai, also known as Bio-Warrior Dan, is an ambitious 1987 action-adventure platformer developed by Atlus and published by Jaleco for the NES. Travelling from the year 2081 back to 1999, players take on the role of Dan, a bio-warrior tasked with navigating massive, maze-like biological structures to stop an alien invasion. Combining side-scrolling exploration with RPG elements, the game lets you collect energy points from defeated enemies to purchase weapon upgrades and power-ups from hidden shopkeepers.
How to Play
Explore the non-linear labyrinth to locate the boss of each area. The standard NES controls apply: use the D-pad to move and navigate doors, the A button to jump, and the B button to attack with your equipped weapon. Press Start to pause or access your sub-menu. In the browser emulator, these map to the arrow keys, X and Z, and Enter.
Tips
- Bosses grow continually stronger the longer you take to reach them, creating a unique tension between rushing to the boss room and taking time to farm energy for crucial upgrades.
- Look for hidden doors in the hub areas; they often lead to NPCs offering hints, health restoration, or combat challenges that reward you with extra resources.
