The Untouchables (Japan) is a multi-genre action shooter released for the NES in 1991. Published in Japan by Altron and originally developed by Special FX Software, the game adapts the 1930s crime film into a mix of side-scrolling platforming, alleyway shootouts, and overhead levels as Eliot Ness works to take down Al Capone's criminal empire.
How to Play
The objective changes depending on the stage, ranging from collecting evidence to surviving timed shootouts against mobsters. Use the D-pad (Arrow keys) to move or aim, the A button (X key) to jump, and the B button (Z key) to shoot.
Tips
- In the alleyway shootout stages, use the environment for cover and only pop out to shoot when enemies stop firing.
- Keep moving steadily through the side-scrolling warehouse levels to avoid getting overwhelmed by respawning mobsters.
